Dear Sir,

Re Balance of Rudge Whitworth Front Wheels.

With reference to your letter of July 30th concerning the above matter, we beg to advise you that we do not think it practicable to space the security bolts equally unless the number of spokes or "series" of spokes be altered to be a multiple of 5, that is the multiple of the number of security bolts. At the same time we see no apparent reason why the tyre valve should not be placed opposite or as nearly opposite as practicable, to the pair of security bolts which are necessarily placed nearer together than the remainder, instead of being placed adjacent.
We think you will see that owing to the fact that there are 14 series or "bundles" of spokes in a Rudge-Whitworth wheel that therefore the 5 security bolts if they are placed in
