We have however, in some cases fitted balance washers carried by selected security bolts to form a correction for the lap joint and tyre irregularities, but the disadvantage of this scheme is that these balance washers have to be altered and corrected when a tyre or inner tube is changed, and for this reason we have not recommended its adoption.
