LID{A. J. Lidsey} X3117 To SPT. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/MG22.11.33 You will recollect we recently had occasion to return a D.W.S.Jack to Messrs. Donald Sessions which had been incorrectly marked "Near-side" instead of "Off-side". Messrs. Sessions are taking up the matter strongly at their Works, with a view to avoiding any repetition of such trouble. They write: "An Off-side Jack will be sent to you immediately in "exchange for the Near-side one we have received from you. "While on the subject of 'Near-side' and 'Off-side' "Jacks, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that "recently we have had to change over a number of Jacks which "have been fitted to the 40/50 HP. Chassis at Derby, as these "have been found to be fitted incorrectly with regard to "'Near-side' and 'Off-side', although the markings were in "these cases, quite correct. "Perhaps you will be good enough to look into this "matter. "To identify the Jacks more easily in the future, we "are attaching a label to the shaft, denoting 'Near-side' or "'Off-side' in addition to stamping the Jack-heads." ROY{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
