C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re. HOBSON GAUGE FITTING ON PETROL TANK. X.4038 X.7460 X.5460 We send herewith N. scheme 3340. shewing a tank unit for the Hobson petrol gauge having a more pleasing appearance. This is needed on N. scheme 3324 - petrol tank, 'U' series, 25HP.- as we hope to make the appearance of the petrol tank so good as to avoid the need of a rear apron. In the design we have tried to avoid altering any of the vital parts, like we have on previous occasions. All we have done is to re-arrange the 3 unions so that the cover is more symmetrical. We suggest that we urge the makers to produce a gauge like this at once, and that we test it without delay, for Sales criticism of the present fitting is a longstanding one.
