(14) Jack pads to G.83848/9 - front, G.83844/5 - rear, should be instructed, pending the final decision on the D.W.S. permanent hydraulic system.

(15) Chassis lubrication as standard, to F.87821.

(16) STEERING.

The three steering gears to be to LOP.F.87743, except for the following :-

1st Chassis.
Gear to incorporate 0.800" lead cam with Timken bearings, 0.005" crowning to F.87835, Roller with Timken bearings to F.87756.

2nd Chassis.
Gear to incorporate 0.700" lead cam with Timken bearings, 0.005" crowning, F.87834, Roller with Timken bearings F.87900. Pendulum lever 8.000" long.

3rd Chassis.
Gear to incorporate 0.700" lead cam with Timken bearings, 0.005" crowning, F.87834, Roller with ball bearings F.87682. Pendulum lever 7.000" long (standard Ph.III).

(17) GEARBOX.

(a) 1 Box with R.R. type gears.
2 Boxes with Cadillac gears.

(b) Ball bearings throughout, except at rear end of 2nd motion shaft.

(c) Higher 1st speed to N.Sch.4326.

(d) Front mounting N.Sch.4652.

(e) Gear oil pump. Design not finished.

(f) Rear mounting to oil pump scheme.

(g) N.Sch.4320 to prevent 2nd gear jumping.
