"M" Series.

BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} met on Friday afternoon, 6th inst. in order to try and wind up the position of "M" series, so that we could:-

Firstly; get a complete chassis with every modification fitted, to proceed on a 10,000 miles trial at the earliest possible momentm

Secondly; to find a programme for the Works, so that they could produce chassis complete to send to Production Test;

Thirdly; to try and arrive at a state when we should be able to send chassis complete to Sales.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} put before the conference all the items that Works were held up for, from whatever cause, and then invited members of the conference to add any other items that they knew of, and a discussion took place on each item.

The following is a list of the items discussed and their likely delay which will mean:-

(1) That a final car for 10,000 miles test cannot be completed until these are fitted,

(2) Production cannot go on completely until we are through with these parts, and

(3) There is no chance of complete chassis being despatched to London until we get over these difficulties.

(1) CONTROLS BETWEEN INSTRUMENT BOARD AND DASHBOARD.

It was stated these were to be completely redesigned by West WitteringHenry Royce's home town. Can Mr.Elliott inform us when they are likely to be issued to Mr.Bailey?
