- 4 - HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}1/VS.{J. Vickers}26.2.38. Change Gear and Hand Brake Mechanism. [Looking into] 32. Suggest a rubber buffer be fitted to GB.3145 to prevent the metallic knock when the hand brake is released. [Intentional Flth.] 33. The neutral position of the change gear lever does not lie between the projections on the gate as on standard production cars, but in direct line with the 3rd and 4th gear position, making it possible to engage a gear unintentionally. Servo Motor. [This scheme is obsolete] 34. The disc damper (G.CD.38) badly fouls the gearbox. 35. Stop GB.3228 as shown on G.CD.104 operates on the wrong lever. Rear Brake Intermediate Shaft. [Do not agree without test] 36. We recommend that the centre bearing as shown on G.CD.36 be deleted, as it will raise difficulties in assembly, and as the shaft appears to be quite stiff enough without the support of the centre bearing. Front Brake Equaliser. [K317] 37. Bolts EB.558 and G.73733 are not long enough. [add .150 (crossed out), add .100"] Rear Shock Dampers. 38. Distance washer between silentbloc bearing and end of connecting arm is not called for on LOP. Front Brake Intermediate Levers. 39. The LOP.GB.3189 does not call for a jaw to connect up rod to servo balance lever; this appears to be a special jaw. Rear Springs. 40. We suggest the .034 interference between FW.1477 Spring and E.2239 Silentbloc Bush be reduced. 41. The rear spring fouls the step iron on full rebound, and to remove axle from chassis places undue strain on the springs at that point. continued. | ||
