X4430 TO EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} GT. } FROM R. {Sir Henry Royce} R7/M19.6.23. X4430 CONDENSERS. The contacts of these as at present made for the 20.HP. are not good enough. The sketch enclosed shews how they can be considerably improved in reliability without change of design. The construction has been definitely defective, and the instructions could be more definite and better. (1) Packing condenser in it's box more tightly. (2) Improved arrangement of connecting strips. (3) Extra strip to ensure local pressure. (4) Slight change to lid. {A. J. Lidsey} (5) Increased spring pressure. (6) Solder used to help earth connection. NOTE. The sketch referred to above is LeC. 1745. which was posted to BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} under E1/M25.7.23. R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
