Contd:-7- Item 13 (not on agenda) Mr. Fairey's car. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said they were giving Mr. Fairey higher compression as Mr. Fairey will use special fuel to obviate knocking. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} also said Mr. Fairey has considerable trouble with his front bumpers coming loose. These are clamped on in the usual poor way as fitted by accessory people and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} recommends that we fit the special dumb irons as used on L.H. cars. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to send to him an estimate of the cost and he will consider it and see Mr. Fairey. Item 14 (not on agenda) Adjustable Shock Absorbers. PN.{Mr Northey} said that he had to-day tried an experimental car fitted with hand variable shock absorbers under drivers control, and that he was most pleased with the results obtained. He said it was a device which was very urgently needed on all our chassis and would undoubtedly reduce the number of complaints regarding riding comfort if provided. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked PN.{Mr Northey} to write a report to him and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} would communicate with R.{Sir Henry Royce} on the subject. | ||
