GABRIEL MANUFACTURING Co. (H.C. MINTER) Telephone EDGWARE 1369 COLUMBIA AVENUE, EDGWARE, (MIDDX) MANUFACTURERS OF FLEXIBLE METALLIC HOSE Telegrams "SNUBBERIZE, EDGWARE" 86148 April 2nd, 1936. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby. WST Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr H.E.West. Referring to the writer's talk with you on Tuesday last, regarding Titeflex for ignition screening. We are making up a few odd lengths of 5/16" bore using a lighter braiding with a view to bring down the external diameter but it will be a few days before these are ready to submit to you. Meanwhile we are sending you a piece of our flex with a nipple attached and which could be used in connection with your existing nuts. The nipple is 3/16" deep and the flex is sunk into this to a depth of 5/32". It is neat and light and as the essential part of the soldered joint is between the end of flex and flat seating of nipple, it is certainly strong enough. It also has the added advantage that flexibility commences right from the back of the nut. The only possible thing against it as far as we can see is that as the "head" of the nipple is 3/16" thick, when used with your standard nut will there remain sufficient thread ? We should be glad of your comments in due course. Yours faithfully, GABRIEL MANUFACTURING Co.
