Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr H.E.West.
Further to our letter to you of the 2nd. inst.
We are now enclosing a piece of our 5/16" bore Titeflex braided with a much lighter (36 gauge) tinned wire, which reduces the o.d. to .495". We have made a nipple to suit and have attached same to show it in use with your existing nut. The back of your nut has been taken out to .535" to .540" dia., so that it passes the nipple and it still leaves ample material.
We are of the opinion that this is an improvement on the pipe submitted to you on the 2nd. The nipples will have to be specially made to suit the flex diameter, but there would be no interference with your existing fittings except that the nut has to be reamed out a trifle.
No doubt we shall be hearing from you in due course as to whether this meets with your approval.
Yours faithfully,
GABRIEL MANUFACTURING CO.
