O.{Mr Oldham} /GRY{Shadwell Grylls} [struck-through signature] Detroit-Athletic Club. March 20th. Many thanks for your letters. Also the statistics requested. Am very glad we have got away with the over drive, mind you get the right ratios. Also run some endurance on the continuous gears you are proposing to use, I suggest at least 100 hours on the dynamometer, possibly you could do it on the Vulture. It seems to me that if Packards can get away with their box on the 12 cyl without trouble we ought to be able to modify the Wraith box so that it will stand up on the Continental PIII. Anyhow we ought to do all we know to make it tough, then run it & see what breaks. Suspension noise generally is causing quite a lot of concern on all American Cars at the moment. Hence the developement of flat gun dampers? The introduction of rubber into the suspension. In addition to bearing [illegible] on the single piston | ||
