PETROL PUMP OFF S.B.V.
15,000 miles test in France
Total mileage - 18,496.

This pump is the modified high pressure pump having cast iron magnet pots in place of mild steel with increased depth of roller race to suit the Neoprene fabric diaphragms. C.U. standard double point contacts and body which is fitted with gauge filters but no air bottles. A Tufnol guide bush is fitted for the armature spindle and Neoprene water excluders. In addition the front unit was smeared with white grease on the rollers and roller race.

The condition of the pump was excellent through-out there being no measureable wear on the spindle bush or rollers. The contact points were in very good condition with slight wear.

The white grease had caused no corrosion or verdigris but in view of the short testing period and lack of dust at this time of year we advise a longer test before this grease is used.

The rear unit only was completely stripped as we wish to have more running and have transferred the pump unaltered to 27.G.VI. as this type of pump is intended for Wraith in the near future.
