V967 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}3/MG30.1.33 -------------- OILS ---- Mr. Brooker, of Price's Oil Company, when here last Wednesday, the 25th instant, stated that their Motorine Oils would run satisfactorily up to 130° - 140°F.{Mr Friese} and their Motorine de Luxe up to 160°F.{Mr Friese} The latter has nearly three times as much fatty matter as the former. He claims to be supplying Motorine de Luxe Oils to many of the Sporty type chassis, i.e., Lagonda [Handwritten: Invicta] [Strikethrough text] Delage Alpha Romeo Talbot &c. He is not supplying to the M.G. people as they are using Shell Aero. He stated, incidentally, that he supplied De Luxe Oil to the Bentley people up to about 2 years before they failed. They had special Bonus Schemes, etc. with the Shell Company, to which his firm would not subscribe. He is particularly anxious we should try out some of his Motorine de Luxe in our Bentley Model. Would you like samples? Though I rather gathered from your previous remarks that Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} wants us to use Vacuum Oil. ROY{Sir Henry Royce} [Signature] | ||
