VOLUTE DRAINING - VENTURI SUCTION TYPE.

X4550

We have carried out a number of tests on our Phantom rig with the suction type volute drainer.

We find that the efficiency of this is considerably increased by having a good fuel head over the venturi.

In arranging the position of this unit on the engine it would appear advisable to place it as much below the volute as possible. Perhaps it could be attached to the carburetter - bottom half if possible - below the volute.

A further report describing the best form of venturi we have tried will follow.
