(4) E.7/HP.16.8.32. Radiator and Shutters. Three of the radiators should be instructed with the standard honeycomb matrix, and the remaining three with the Marston matrix. The shutters should be made up to a drawn section, reproducing as near as possible the shape used on our present standard production. Luggage Grids. Three of the chassis should be fitted with luggage grids to the design scaled down from J.J. chassis. Springing. Four of the chassis will have standard low rating springing and the remaining two will be built to somewhat stiffer specification. Central lubrication. The central lubrication system will be gone over in detail, and a solderless fitting will be instructed in place of the present banjos wherever possible. This applies to all six chassis to be produced. Dynamo. This should be instructed to be the same as the improved 20/25 type on all six cars. Starter Motor. These six cars should be fitted with the improved starter motor, giving 60% more torque, and the ratio of the starter gearing should be altered from 11 to 1 to 13 to 1. Chassis Wiring. The wiring will be enclosed in flexible metallic tubing as on the first chassis, and the only alteration contemplated is an increase in the size of the tubing passing towards the rear of the chassis to accommodate any further conductors that may be required. Battery Ignition. This will be as on the first car with 3-lobed cam and double contact breaker. The present standard coil will be used. A scheme for the ignition wiring is now required to suit the design proposed for the induction system. Instrument Board. The six cars will be instructed with the latest type of Rolls-Royce instrument | ||
