Dear Banks,

I have heard reports that Ethyl fuel has had a bad effect on Magnesium fuel tanks. Have you any experience of this?

We are anxious to employ Magnesium induction pipes and manifolds and wonder if we may expect trouble from Ethyl.

The Stellited valves are still quite satisfactory and we feel confident that they should see us through a leaded type test successfully. We do not use a flux for welding the Stellite to the valves - it is just applied to the dry metal.

I will let you know when we have some samples from the complete engine to shew you.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
