Wide Frame 25/30 Chassis: ------------------------ Park Ward & Co., tell us they calculate the Standardised Bodies they are to build for us will weigh as below:- (1) 6/7 Seater Pullman................Approximately 12 Cwts. (2) 4/5 " Six-light Saloon (no division) " 11½ " (3) 4/5 " Four-light Touring Limousine. " 12½ " (4) 4/5 " Four-light Saloon (no division) " 11½ " These estimate are based on the actual weights of the bodies built for the Experimental Department and allowance is being made for the differences in size and design. Undoubtedly these estimated weights will be exceeded by other coachbuilders. We fear we shall find 13 Cwts will be reached for Pullmans, 12½ Cwts for Touring Limousines and 12 Cwts for Saloons. Of course, none of the weights mentioned allow for accessories, front or rear bumpers, spare wheels, heaters, radio sets, etc., or luggage. You may like to know that as a rough estimate we reckon the percentage demands for bodies will be approximately:- (a) For 6/7 Seater Pullmans...........45% (b) For 4/5 " Saloons...............35% (c) For 4/5 " Touring Limousines.20% These figures are based on past sales but there is an element of guess work about them because we cannot forsee just what will be the effect of our changed policy in connection with standardisation of the more popular types.
