EXP. CONTINENTAL TOURING CAR - SHORT CHASSIS. x7/20.

We send herewith N. schs. 3000/1. shewing the proposed exp. touring car. N. sch. 3000. is 1/16th scale outline, and N. sch. 3001. size detail.

With reference to the latter we shew F.{Mr Friese} steering. Would Derby kindly set out the column and dash. The levers are standard E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} type. The pedals we shall send a design for from here in due course.

As regards the tank and wheel carrier should it be decided to adhere to the sloping wheels we shall send a design for a petrol tank and wheel carrier later, but it may be decided to use vertical wheels.

WHEELS.
These are 20" rims and 6.75" tyres, and lower the car approx: .5".

SPRINGS.
We have followed HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/ADL;1029. in the general dimensions but it will be seen that the cambers are modified somewhat in places. The modifications to the springs lower the car approximately 1".

SUBFRAME.
We wish this subframe to be used for all short chassis regardless of the type of body, that is, there will be only one type of subframe for the short chassis. Would Derby please set this out on the lines of the revised subframe for the long chassis recently sent them.

TRACK.
It will be noticed that we are working on the 60" rear track, and 58.5" front track.
