-2- In the past we have been able to satisfy our American clients, and so far as we know not one of them has ever wanted to return his car, and it is strange and alarming, that we now hear a further six cars have been returned by customers, in addition to two others previously. In view of the above, and of many similar complaints made against our post war chassis, we consider that there may possibly be something peculiar about the conditions in U.S.A. which we at Derby have not properly grasped, and we feel the only way to really get to the bottom of the matter is to send two of our best representatives out immediately. The Committee very strongly recommend that Mr. Bailey and Mr. Platford go out with C.J. to the States, on his coming visit, and endeavour to clear up the whole situation. We are sending Messrs Hives and Platford to interview Mr. Royce in Lincolnshire, in connection with this cable, early tomorrow morning. | ||
