S-EX. 10,000 MILES TEST IN FRANCE. 8940a

BJ9/H29.9.25. It is certain we could not recommend the use of the lighter wheels with the well base rims until they have completed 10,000 miles and until they have also passed the experimental investigation test.

The well base rims demand special tyres. The tyres are a new construction and have a new pattern of tread. The method of holding the tyre on to the rim is different to what we have used before.

Experimental investigation tests on these wheels are in progress. We are already taking up points with the makers.

We shall be going to WW. tomorrow and will see R.{Sir Henry Royce} on Friday. We will discuss with him the running of these wheels on the 10,000 miles test car.
