Cycle Type Wings - Bentley. --------------------- We have encountered a trouble with these wings owing to the use of stays in spring steel. These must be heat treated after being bent to their final shape. The present detail drawings show a straight stay to be bent at the Coachbuilders to suit the wing. We think it would be better to standardise a shape of wing so that the works can make and heat treat stays that will fit the wings. For our bump experiments we are shaping the stays to suit a pair of wings we have in existence. Will you therefore send us a drawing of wings you propose for customers, showing the curvature of the wing stays. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls. | ||
