(5) The general reputation of the firm and of its products in this country. The firm is actually the General Electric Co., which is the largest manufacturer of electrical apparatus in the world. This fact, coupled with their desire to serve us, should make for the easy solution of any difficulties which arise.

(6) With reference to the starting motor, it should be noted that on car 4-JX we have had to send a man to Chicago three times (a thousand miles each way) to deal with troubles which have arisen on this car, principally in the magneto and starting motor, whereas if electrical equipment had been standard American equipment, service could have been obtained locally without delay.

In the case of 4-JX, we finally had to take the car back because the owner was so dissatisfied with delays caused by trivial defects.

(7) IN ORDER TO AVOID DELAY IN OUR PRODUCTION PROGRAMME IT IS NECESSary THAT WE SHOULD PLACE ORDERS FOR THESE STARTING MOTORS NOT LATER THAN THE 5TH OF AUGUST. WE SHALL THEREFORE PLACE ORDERS FOR THESE ON THAT DATE UNLESS WE HEAR FROM YOU TO THE CONTRARY.

As an additional argument for using the Bijur motor and generator I wish to add that in the past eight years these and all
