May 21/36 Dear RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Here is the information from the P.G. on the "Autosyn" self-synchronising motors used for measuring the angle of the front wheels on skid-pad tests. Two motors are used. One is installed below the front of the car and the lever or pulley on its spindle is connected by a piano wire and tension spring with any convenient part of the front wheel steering linkage which is rigidly linked to the wheels, for instance the tie rod on a conventional front axle. This motor is supplied with current from a small motor-alternator set driven from the car battery.
