D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /BP c. Won c. PP c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x476 BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Cgh. {W Clough} 1/G.12.6.33. RE: CHASSIS GDX-10. MESSRS. R.P. COLLYER LIMITED., MONTREAL (DEMONSTRATION). ----------------------------------------------------------------- With reference to D {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /BP.8/OG.7.6.33. our reply to the various questions is as follows :- (1). We suggest that Sales Department decide if Messrs. R.P. Collyer Ltd., are to be supplied with Service Depot Sheets. (2). In the case of the Phantom ll. our instruction books specify Wakefield's Castrol XL. as an alternative to Prices for the gearbox, but in the case of the 20/25 we have not yet standardised one of Wakefield's brands. (3). If they will refer to the Phantom ll. instruction book Messrs. Collyer will find that we recommend a Wakefields brand of oil for the rear axle, as an alternative to Whitmore's 'O' Compound. (4). There are no constructional differences between current production chassis, and those supplied two years ago so far as the clutch and brakes are concerned. The brake linings, however, have been increased from .312 to .375. (5). We do not usually supply Agents with drawings of the chassis units, although we have done so in the case of Paris and Indian Depots. Sales should decide on the question of sending drawings to Messrs. Collyer. (6). We have not made any spare parts for the American build L.H. chassis. (7). When using poor quality petrol it is quite possible that they may have to alter the setting of the carburetter, and there is not much difficulty in this. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Cgh. {W Clough} | ||
