RE. OVEROILING ON EAC. ENGINE.

With regard to the above it occurs to us that your
tests have checked the effect of every lubrication feature on
the engine which might contribute to over-oiling, with the
exception of the pressure feed to the piston pins. It is con-
ceivable that at high speed a considerable quantity of oil
might be thrown out of this feed due to the inertia effects at
the top of the stroke.

Mr. Royce is agreeable to you testing an engine
with the oil feed to the piston pins shut off.
