| To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Whyman. Copy to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} De BY RMC. x200 WYMAN File E/PSN.1/MN.28.8.36. Filter Elements for Air Intake Silencers. We send you herewith a preliminary print of LeC 5254 of a metal wool type of filter element for 25/30 and Bentley. A similar type of element has already been instructed for Phantom III to LeC.5000. You will note that we have called for the end plates in either steel treated to prevent rusting, or in aluminium. It is possible that the aluminium end plates would be cheaper as the additional labour costs of treating the steel to prevent rusting would outweigh the difference in the cost of the material. If there is little difference in cost we should prefer the aluminium end plates. We also return herewith the sample element with fibre ends, which we should be pleased if you would wash in ordinary petrol and Discol to see whether or not it will stand up satisfactorily. E/PSN.
