| To E/Psn. x 208 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}24/KW.31.8.36. Filter Elements for Air Intake Silencers. In reply to the last paragraph contained in E/Psn.1/MN.28.8.36, the sample element has been immersed in Ethyl petrol for 1/2 hr. and in Discol for 15 minutes, without any detrimental effect on the fibre ends. From this test we would suggest that this form of element is quite satisfactory for the 20/25 HP. and Bentley cars. Owing to its larger diameter and smaller section, the element for the Ph.III might be a better job made in steel or aluminium, and we are therefore instructing one to be made as a sample.
