LINERS FOR FITTING TO ALUMINIUM BRAKE HOUSINGS.

We have ordered from the British Piston Ring Co, six cast iron liners in accordance with your sketch for the above and we are now advised by the British Piston Ring Co, Limited, that they are supplying these in their Brimol Iron which has a coefficient of expansion of .000018".

They advise us that liners in this material which have been inserted in aluminium housings and depending solely on an interference fit, have been tested by Messrs. Ferodo Limited, and found to function perfectly satisfactory.

They advise on a 12" dia. liner that the amount of interference should be a minimum of .012" and a maximum of .020".
