re. 28-MS. Mr. Pass.
(For use Austrian Trials).

I had arranged to test the above car when completed in London, but I was not able to be away from the Works on the day on which the car was ready for this test.

I discussed the matter with JLE. {J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} and arranged a test on Brooklands Track, and the following is a report we have received from JLE. {J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} :-

"We took this car out on test on Monday, the 20th. inst. and went down to Brooklands. The performance of the car was quite satisfactory. The lap speed was 80 m.p.h. and the half mile 85 m.p.h. There was a slight cross wind against us. This is with the hood up and the cut-out open. The weight of the car was 44 cwt. with three people up and two spare wheels at the rear.

The car held the track well and although the air temperature was not high, it did not show any indication of the engine overheating.

I tried the hand brake holding the car in a gradient of 1 in 4 and by pulling it on very hard indeed it would just hold the car.

Mr. Pass is taking the car tonight and I understand that G.H. is coming down tomorrow and I propose getting in touch with him re the handbrake."
