Copy of letter from:- THOS.FIRTH & SONS LIMITED, Norfolk Works, Sheffield. 20th Oct.1924. Steel Dept. MMF/WEW. Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. Dear Sirs, Order No.34172. We are in receipt of your letter of the 17th inst. ref.- Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/Dn17/BH171024, and would inform you that we have completed the 12 springs urgently required against the above order, and also the 12 main plates to your order No.35315. These will all be despatched by your lorry which, we understand, is calling at our Works today. The spare main plates have each been fitted to a respective spring, and will be tied to those springs, as well as being painted with the same number, in order that no errors may be made. We shall be interested to hear the results of the tests carried out on these springs as soon as this information is available. Yours faithfully, THOS.FIRTH & SONS LIMITED.
