An inlet port of gradually tapering form at no point making an angle of less than 45° with the valve stem, merges obliquely with the valve seat orifice which is devoid of lips or equivalent elements. The inlet port adjacent to valve seat is thus aimed directly at the valve orifice.

A small combustion chamber is formed in the end of the sparking plug body, to this mixture containing more oxygen than the main charge is admitted. The ignition flame there initiated reaches the main combustion space by a plurality of openings in the end of the spark plug body and the flames so caused are reinforced by the admission of a mixture containing a still higher percentage of oxygen.

To adjust a plug having a number of wires the tool comprises a central circular boss and a number of bosses corresponding to the number of wires spaced around the central boss. By rotating the tool the surrounding bosses come in contact with the wires and bend them till they rest against the central boss.
