WOR. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} FROM DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Strikethrough) C. to RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} (Strikethrough) X.6107 DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 3/M23.1.31. X.6107 JAPAN 3. BATTERY. On looking through the National Accumulator Co's list we see that the 20HP. battery is considerably more expensive than batteries of equal or greater capacity, but almost precisely similar in dimensions. We suggest that it might be worth while considering whether an economy on Japan 3. could not be effected by using one of these batteries. We suggest that for instance instead of using 6-TBD7-E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} we might use 6-GX11-A. {Mr Adams} which has an appreciably greater capacity. We are aware that in this case the dimensions are different from 6-TBD7-E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} but we wish on Japan 3. to use a battery arranged like 6-GX11-A. {Mr Adams} The saving on the list price is £2. We suggest that the greater capacity battery would probably have considerable running advantages even though its internal construction was not quite so sound as the one we now use. If this suggestion is thought anything of we should like this battery in the place of the one referred to in DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 2/M23.1.31., to EFC. {E.
