X1487 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}5/KW.23.3.35. S.U. Carburetter Throttle Adjusting Screw. Production are finding difficulty in locking up the throttle adjustment due to the fact that the 3-BA lock nut enters into a recess in the casting when in a locked position, thus making it inaccessible. It is suggested that a shouldered nut be used; this would raise it so that a spanner could be applied. We suggest that in future a nut with a shoulder of .156" replaces the present standard, and that the adjusting screw be lengthened a similar amount to allow for full range.
