X.4386 X.2628 RE REAR SPRINGS. I hope they have not failed to inform you of the modifications which are likely to take place on the front end of the rear springs. The springs themselves will require a smaller eye. We are proposing to fit the black-lead type of bushings to see if these would do without lubricators and lubricating. We propose to abandon, (owing to difficulties of dismounting due to the presence of the running board and valance) the canti-lever (overhanging) method of carrying the front end of the spring, and are substituting a fitting so that the spring can be easily removed by the removal of the pin. This, I find, is the same scheme and construction we had on the 1905 Tourist Trophy. R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
