Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}1/M29/10/24.

We agree that we have reason to believe that the revisions are not likely to be so important as to delay delivery of satisfactory E.A.C.2 chassis beyond the middle of July.

We further agree that your suggestion to wait until we have tried 93.NK. a fortnight hence, is a good suggestion, and we further think that it is excellent to send 93.NK. immediately R.{Sir Henry Royce} and Sales are satisfied, on test to complete 10,000 miles; we suggest, however, not necessarily to do 500 miles a day, and not even to be run by drivers from the Experimental Department, but should be used and driven by Sales' critics, so that we may get the whole of their criticism early, and we might get an acceptance of a model that should form the basis of first deliveries.

We therefore suggest that if it is at all possible it would be wise, and save a good deal of time and possible modifications at a late date, if PN{Mr Northey}, Commander Briggs, EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, H, BJ, and anyone else whom you consider advisable, should do as much running as possible on this car. If 93.NK. is satisfactory we can quickly have similar E.A.C.2 cars ready which could be sent to France for endurance test.

Possibly later, when we get cars with all the modifications fitted, a model could be set up for everybody to work to for first deliveries.

With reference to your alternative scheme, we think it is better to go for the complete job, that any attempt to fit engine or any other features to the standard chassis would mean many alterations and possibly redesigning, and would not help us as much as going right ahead with the main job.

With reference to vibration, we think this could be considered further when 93.NK has been tried by Sales, but we generally think, providing Sales Department are satisfied for the covered car business with an engine that will have the same speed and acceleration as we have on the standard 40/50HP, that the vibration should be less, that is to say, for the same performance we think there would be an improvement with the new engine.
