20 HP. CHASSIS. USE OF 33 x 6" TYRES.
------------------------------------

In view of the fact that although the standardization sheet has been fully signed up, agreeing to the use of the above tyres on the 20 HP. chassis, when we pointed out the fact that it affected the rear spare wheel carrier position, Sales disagreed with same, - we would like to remind you that you have therefore not got an alternative to the present 5 1/4 medium pressure tyre, in the 33 x 6", as obviously unless we can carry the spare wheel correctly at the rear, we cannot offer the general scheme to the public.

Until, therefore we obtain a design from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town which will enable the 33 x 6" wheel to be carried correctly at the rear, we cannot agree to the tyre in question being put forward to a customer as suitable, and if a customer himself proposes it, it must be made plain to him that it is not usable. We are therefore considering the standardization sheet held up pro.tem. pending the modified pieces to enable the spare wheel to be correctly positioned at the rear.
