Re: 20 HP. Chassis - 33 x 6" Tyres.

We are in receipt of your EY6/H21.7.27.

The real reason why S. do not wish to standardise 33 x 6" Tyres, is set out in BJ2/E14.7.27. - i.e. in connection with gearing.

The increased height of the spare wheel which you said would be necessary, was an added disadvantage from the point of view of standardisation.

We do not, however, feel that either of these reasons should prevent us from permitting a Customer to have them if he specially wishes them and agrees to the sparewheel being 2 1/4" higher.

In view of the fact that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has expressed a desire for 6" tyres to be fitted as standard and that everybody at W. had signed standardisation sheet agreeing to them as a special fitting when desired by Customers, we are desirous of retaining the agreement that was reached on this point.

To refuse to fit them might lose us an order in a case where a Customer was specially keen to have them.

If by some small modifications it is possible later to offer to fit them and retain the spare wheel in the present position, this will be all to the good.

We hope you agree these views.
