PROCEDURE RELATING TO WAR DAMAGE
AT DERBY CREWE OR THEIR SUB-CONTRACTORS.

In the event of enemy action causing damage, the following procedure must be taken without delay to enable records and claims to be made in the prescribed time.

Notice that damage has been sustained must be immediately reported, and the assessment of the damage must be made under the following main headings :-

1. WORK IN PROGRESS.

This is work of a saleable nature, and includes all material, partly machined pieces, finished parts, fabricated and partly fabricated pieces and units, assembled engines and units etc., together with all such items of an Experimental nature, partly finished jigs, tools and patterns.

2. BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT.

This includes buildings, fences, land, roads, equipment, services, furniture, plant, machine tools, jigs, fixtures [strikethrough], transport vehicles etc.

3. ITEMS OF A REVENUE NATURE.

This includes perishable tools, consumable supplies, and completed jigs, tools and patterns.

Under these main headings the following information is required :-

1. WORK IN PROGRESS.

(a) The type and cause of damage, i.e. Incendiary, H.E. Bomb, Water, Weather, Fire and etc.

(b) The amount at which the damage should be assessed.
