E712576 SERVO COUNTERSHAFT. ------------ Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}6/KT.20.10.33. the scheme shown on Ex 1276 was tried for us in Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}'s Department and turned down as unsatisfactory owing to the fact that the oil did get past the small clearance which was left between the shaft and the pressing, but could not run back again into the box. If it is agreed that a small hole can be drilled to permit the oil to drain back into the box, with the hole of such a small diameter that it will not permit oil to freely pass, under frothing or surging conditions, it may work. We propose to do this, but I am not at all hopeful that it will overcome the trouble. GRY{Shadwell Grylls} See me Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
