+4037 Expl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/LG. 9th. April 1929. Messrs. Benton & Stone Ltd., Bracebridge Stret, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, For the attention of E.Milner Esq. With reference to your letter of the 18th.ult. which we regret not having answered before. One of your improved filter element packs is now running in France and we hope shortly to be able to report on it. If we do not experience any corrosion with this filter over an extended period of service, we think that we shall ask you to put the maximum number of filter plates on the pack and supply them to us in duralumin. Our greatest trouble so far has been the lack of capacity of the filter necessitating frequent cleaning. The quality of the petrol on the Continent is so poor that a tremendous amount of foreign matter is collected by the filter. We would ask you to make every endeavour to improve the consistency of the gap size as although your final filter packs appear to be rather better in this respect than your previous efforts, we still feel there is appreciable room for improvement. Yours faithfully, | ||
