In reply to your memo Br/CP.19/H.14.7.41 re spring plates and clips for "Corniche" rear axle, on 3.9.40 we received from you 2 gear boxes and rear axles from B.4.AW and B.V.17 chassis, and the "Corniche" axle arrived minus the necessary spring plates and clips.
We are now anxious to fit this axle to one of our chassis and we have no stock of plates and clips in Derby.
If this axle was actually removed from the chassis, you probably still have the fixings. If not, I am afraid there is no alternative but to remove at least one pair of plates and clips from a completed chassis and forward some to us, and rig up some temporary fixing for moving the chassis about.
Please refer to memos Br/Bk.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager}2/H.27.8.40 and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}4/Dn.
3.9.40.
