3½ LITRE BENTLEY - RE: ESSENTIAL MODIFICATIONS TO THE FIRST 15 CHASSIS

Further to BY.1/G.19.7.33. the following points have been modified somewhat, and the altered position dealing only with modified features is as follows :-

Front Axle (Item 8).
As a result of a further discussion with Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} present, the new information he brought forward makes it clear that to prevent leakage effects and consequent failure of braking from oil working into the drums, it is necessary to fit the latest type of pivot caps instructed in BY/TRM.1/E.18.7.33.

Rocker Cover (Item 9).
It has been decided that a polished rectangular frame round the word 'Bentley' is not required. Instruction covering this issued under BY.1/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 21.7.33.

Finish of Induction Pipe (New Item).
It was agreed that we should maintain the black finish to the induction pipe instead of the polished or scratch brushed finish.

Modified Position of petrol tap on Dashboard. (Item 11).
(b) of Item 11 - Not to be fitted to first 15.
(c). Wing nut on petrol filter - will be fitted after the 15th. chassis.

Brakes (Item 12).
It has been confirmed that it is necessary to fit:-
(a). The quick adjustment scheme.
(b). A.M.R.S.2. Liners.
(c). Modified Lever.
