Hexagon versus Square Headed. With reference to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}2/VS.{J. Vickers}3.7.37 and E.5/HP.2.7.37, we propose that Bentley III designs shall be issued with square headed bolts. Those that have been issued will be corrected. Wraith III designs have been modified to use hexagon headed bolts. It will be necessary to revert to the square headed bolts shewn on most of the original designs, and this can be done without further instructions from us. Where as in the case of later Wraith III designs hexagon heads are shewn on the original, it will be necessary to go over them and indicate what alterations are needed to change to square heads. In the meanwhile it is understood that there are dies made to the original designs with square headed bolts, and these will not now require modification. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
