SHOCK ABSORBERS & DAMPING.

With reference to Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 8/E29.12.37., I should like Leslie to have an opportunity of trying one of the cars complained about because there have been a number of cases where the ride control has been put out of action due to dirt getting in the system, and it may be that in certain cases this has been the cause of the complaint. If, on the other hand, the cars complained of are up to standard, Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les.3/AP.4.1.38. indicates why the present front damper is not more effective.

It would appear that the modification mentioned in Standardisation Sheet P.8 could be brought in at the same time as the overdrive box, i.e. 101 in D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} , without a great deal of scrap, and we hope to find out what this amounts to in the immediate future.
