PHANTOM III ROCKER COVER JOINTS.

From time to time there has been a considerable amount of trouble with the rocker cover joints (E.87580) in respect of leaks, blowing out and sticking.

This applies both to Vellumoid and Rappa particularly the latter, but some time ago we submitted a dozen joints, in "Klinger black" material 1/32" thickness, to CWH. for trial on cars in service.

He has informed us that these joints are perfectly satisfactory, in which case we would recommend that they be adopted both in production and service.

The comparative costs as follows are also favourable towards the use of "Klinger Black" joints.

(1) Vellumoid .... 112/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} per 100
(2) Rappa......... 62/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} per 100
(3) Klinger Black. 33/-d, per 100
1/32 joints as
tried by CWH.

The quotation submitted by Klingers calls for a tool cost of 66/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
