Dear Mr. Kishline,

We have been taking an interest in semi-floating rear axles and have noticed that Graham's use a smaller half shaft than anyone else and at the same time an over-hang from the tyre centre line to the wheel bearing of over 2".

We wonder whether you would tell us how you have made this successful with a taper hub fixing, where other people with larger shafts have had considerable trouble.

Which condition do you think causes shaft failure: large over-hang, low 1st. gear, or cornering stresses ?

I hope you do not mind our asking these questions, but we should be interested to hear your views. Perhaps you could tell us of what material your shafts are made.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
