X1110 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.12/KW. Your Ref: TS/HBT/CC. 1st April, 1936. Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, 30th ult. We thank you for your letter of the We note that you are arranging to omit the transfer from future clutches and to paint the projecting lugs of the pressure plate. We are aware that the colour on the damper springs is for identification purposes only, but think that you will agree that if it is to be left on after assembly it should be a uniform coat or otherwise the appearance will suffer. With regard to the eccentricity of the split pin holes, this again is a question of appearance and we appreciate that it does not interfere with the locking of the assembly. Regarding the faulty machining of the 13 1/2" driven plate hubs, we took the matter up with our production people after our telephone conversation last Saturday and we understand that our Mr. Clay visited your Works on Monday to discuss the matter. Apparently a final machining operation in the bore of the splines had been omitted. We understood from the telephone conversation that you were also critical of the finish of the splines, but since you did not take this point up with Mr. Clay, possibly we are mistaken. We have examined the hubs in question and have no fault to find with the finish. | ||
