| Aprilia PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS ENGINE: 4-cylinder narrow "V" aluminium monobloc with special hard cast iron bores. - Bore 72 mm. - stroke 83 mm. - Cubic Capacity 1352 c. c. - Treasury Rating 12.9 H.P. (Tax £ 9.15s. 0d.) - Cylinder head with overhead valves and hemispherical combustion chambers with central sparking plugs FUEL FEED: By mechanical pump and ZENITH down-draught carburetter. COOLING: By water circulation with automatic control device. ENGINE SUSPENSION: By patented elastic mounting with shock-absorbing device eliminating vibrations. FUEL TANK: Of eleven gallon capacity providing for approximately 300 miles. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: 6-volt; ignition by coil and battery, constant tension dynamo, double circuit wiring for lighting with independent fuses for each circuit; electric starter with switch operated from instrument board. TRANSMISSION: Dry single plate clutch. - Four-speed forward and reverse, with silent third. SUSPENSION: Front wheels by LANCIA patented independent springing. - Rear wheels by specially combined independent system, viz, a transversal spring mounted with two actuating brackets supports the static weight of the car; two torsion bars applied to the actuating brackets absorb any difference of load owing not only to road unevenness but also to the great lateral strain when cornering, especially at high speed.
