Some vital reasons why you should fit the Auto-Klean Strainer HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED engine trouble or stoppages due to a dirty carburettor or a choked jet causing you inconvenient delays of an expensive and vexing nature? Trouble with grit on your carburettor float needle, causing flooding and consequent waste of fuel? Trouble with a partially choked strainer causing “popping” in the carburettor and difficulties in the starting of your engine? The trouble, difficulty and mess involved in cleaning the gauze of your strainer? The necessity of frequent renewals of the gauze of the same, owing to its non-cleanable and friable characteristics? IF SO, YOUR TROUBLES ARE DUE TO EITHER LACK OF A FILTER OR TO ONE WHICH IS INEFFICIENT. THE AUTO-KLEAN STRAINER or Filter is the only strainer on the market which has been expressly designed with a view to ELIMINATING ALL THE ABOVE DIFFICULTIES. Its value as a labour and time economiser is self evident (see claims below). THE AUTO-KLEAN STRAINER is suitable for use on all classes of engines, and with all motor fuels. Examination of the illustration on the opposite page will explain how the straining of the fuel is accomplished, and how the STRAINER CLEANS ITSELF. Some of the more important advantages claimed for the AUTO-KLEAN STRAINER are as follows:— FLOW ASSURED. A maximum flow of fuel is always assured by reason of the simplicity of the cleaning operation. STRAINING TO FINEST LIMITS. Prevents dirt particles two thousandths of an inch in size (about 180 by 180 gauge mesh) from passing and also separates water more readily than a gauze strainer, which contrary to the usual erroneous impression does not prevent water passing. LARGE STRAINING RATIO. The ratio of the straining area compared with the pipe area is large (at least six times). POSITIVE CLEANING. The strainer cartridge is mechanically cleaned by a turn of the handle—no shutting off the fuel at the supply, release of pressure or breaking of joints—this obviates mess or soiling the hands. LARGE DIRT SUMP. The capacity of dirt and water sump is large. TEST. Each strainer is thoroughly tested before leaving our works. Strained dirt, etc., is deposited on this face and is removed by the rotative movement of the plates against the scraper blades in an outward direction.
